SPRING DANCE 2025

Beginning the scenic design process for this show, Gina and I originally were going to create smaller set pieces for each piece. Through that process, the two of us met to discuss where we were in our processes, and came to a conclusion: Our choreographers did not want scenery and we needed to change course. We decided to look into the idea of an enveloping "art installation" that would minimize the barrier between the audience and the dancers. This idea was very well received by the director, Lisa Long. However, due to budgeting, time, and labor, much of this idea was cut for this semesters show. We all came to a compromise to see the original idea come to reality next semester for Fall Dance 2025. Spring Dance 2025 would instead act as a test run, building towards a single thematic element; something that had not been done at CSUF.
